Saudi Arabian Military Industries’ company Advanced Electronics Company (AEC) showcased its indigenously developed BARIQ unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The drone was displayed at the Dubai Airshow 2021.


BARIQ is a multirotor hybrid-powered drone with vertical take-off and landing capability.


The UAV’s airframe is made from lightweight carbon fiber and it has long-endurance, long-range, and heavy lifting capabilities.


BARIQ is developed to carry out surveillance, intelligence, payload release, search & rescue, equipment carrier, as well as inspection and detection missions.


The airframe is designed to meet the requirements of harsh environments and high-endurance.


The drone has six detachable and foldable arms, which makes it compact for transport and storage. It comes with a small size portable Ground Station, that is easy to operate and support fully autonomous missions with video link and encrypted telemetry data.

Communication Range: 85 km

Altitude (above sea level): 4000 m (13,000 Feet)

Endurance with No Payload: Up to 4 hours

Endurance with 12 Kg Payload: Up to 2 hours
