France conducted its maiden test for a hypersonic demonstrator vehicle on June 26, 2023. The VMAX hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) demonstrator was launched using a ground-based rocket at the Biscarosse test facility on the Bay of Biscay in southwestern France.
