Gunmen fire shots at Saudi official’s car in Karachi

KARACHI, Pakistan — Unidentified gunmen from a black-tinted glass covered car opened fire at the director of Saudi Consul General in Karachi but he remained unhurt.

Clifton Police official, Superintendent of Police Amjad Hayat told newsmen that Saudi official, Tariq Ilahi’s car was fired upon by gunmen from an unidentified passing vehicle which remained untraced.

The black color car with tinted glasses followed the Saudi car for some time but fled away after firing several shots.

Police officials said that the bullet penetrated the back widow of the Saudi official’s car but did not hit the official. Saudi official told police that the attackers chased his car and fired from a close rang but could not directly hit him.

Police has open an investigation but was unable to trace the attacking vehicle.
