The Indian navy emphasized the dual achievement of the test: certifying the accuracy of the ship&#8217;s combat system and armament complex and validating a new capability of the missile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Advanced sea to sea variant of BrahMos Supersonic Cruise missile was tested from INS Visakhapatnam today. Missile hit the designated target ship precisely,&#8221; DRDO posted on Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the team for their accomplishment on his Twitter message: \u201cThe robustness of the Indian Navy mission readiness is reconfirmed today after the successful launch of the advanced version of BrahMos Missile from INS Vishakhapatnam today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The naval variant of the BrahMos cruise missile was earlier tested by the Indian Navy\u2019s indigenously developed destroyer INS Chennai in October 2020, and Rajput-class destroyer INS Ranvijay in December 2020.
