{"id":7725,"date":"2021-12-19T10:43:49","date_gmt":"2021-12-19T08:43:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ir-ia.com\/news\/?p=7725"},"modified":"2021-12-19T10:46:16","modified_gmt":"2021-12-19T08:46:16","slug":"northrop-grumman-achieves-new-milestone-in-triton-drone-production","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ir-ia.com\/news\/northrop-grumman-achieves-new-milestone-in-triton-drone-production\/","title":{"rendered":"Northrop Grumman achieves new milestone in Triton Drone production"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Defense Manufacturer Northrop Grumman recently passed a significant milestone in the production of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) first MQ-4C Triton Drone when the aircraft fuselage was mounted onto Triton\u2019s unique one-piece wing.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Triton is a high-altitude, long-endurance (HALE), maritime intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platform. Once completed and delivered to Australia, Triton\u2019s powerful payload and endurance will provide the RAAF with the ability to detect and analyze threats that were previously undetectable, the Northrop Grumman statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Australia\u2019s first Triton is on track to be delivered just as the U.S. Navy expects to achieve initial operating capability with their&nbsp;multi-intelligence Tritons, the same configuration Australia is receiving. \u201cThe identical capabilities will allow the RAAF and U.S. Navy to share data and maintain an unblinking autonomous intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting capability over some of the world\u2019s most critical maritime regions,\u201d Northrop Grumman Corporation statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Triton Program Manager at Northrop Grumman Rho Cauley-Bruner said, \u201cThis production milestone further demonstrates our commitment to both sides of the cooperative program between the Royal Australian Air Force and the U.S. Navy\u2026 We are on schedule to deliver Triton\u2019s powerful capability in support of Australia\u2019s national security.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ir-ia.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Australias-first-MQ-4C-Triton.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ir-ia.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Australias-first-MQ-4C-Triton.jpg?resize=845%2C563&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7728\" width=\"845\" height=\"563\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ir-ia.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Australias-first-MQ-4C-Triton.jpg?w=750&amp;ssl=1 750w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ir-ia.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Australias-first-MQ-4C-Triton.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.ir-ia.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Australias-first-MQ-4C-Triton.jpg?resize=589%2C392&amp;ssl=1 589w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 845px) 100vw, 845px\" \/><\/a><figcaption><em><sup>Australia&#8217;s first MQ-4C Triton fuselage is lowered onto the unique one-piece wing. (Image Credit: Northrop Grumman)<\/sup><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Director of Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare at Air Force Headquarters Group, Captain Jason Lind said, \u201cThe Air Force is pleased with the continuing progress of our first Triton and the ongoing strong relationships we enjoy within the Cooperative Program with the U.S. Navy and with the manufacturer of the Triton, Northrop Grumman Corporation\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am looking forward to seeing our first Triton roll off the production line and then commence flying in Australian skies in 2024.
