{"id":5797,"date":"2018-10-07T11:35:37","date_gmt":"2018-10-07T11:35:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/box5917.temp.domains\/~iriacom\/\/news\/?p=5797"},"modified":"2019-10-02T17:40:43","modified_gmt":"2019-10-02T17:40:43","slug":"japan-military-officer-killed-during-us-philippine-drill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ir-ia.com\/news\/japan-military-officer-killed-during-us-philippine-drill\/","title":{"rendered":"Japan military officer killed during US-Philippine drill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Japanese military officer killed in<\/strong> <strong>the van-truck collision in\u00a0the Philippines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the members of Japan&#8217;s military was killed in a car crash in the Philippines during joint exercises with US and Filipino troops.<\/p>\n<p>His fellow Japanese officer suffered a broken rib, but was discharged from the hospital the same day.<\/p>\n<p>Suguru Maehara, a 38-year-old sergeant of the Ground Self-Defense Forces, was involved in the accident on Tuesday last week, according to a GSDF spokesman who confirmed his death.
