{"id":5794,"date":"2018-10-06T11:11:10","date_gmt":"2018-10-06T11:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/box5917.temp.domains\/~iriacom\/\/news\/?p=5794"},"modified":"2018-10-09T11:55:22","modified_gmt":"2018-10-09T11:55:22","slug":"us-approves-sale-of-5-armed-bell-407gx-helicopters-to-iraq","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ir-ia.com\/news\/us-approves-sale-of-5-armed-bell-407gx-helicopters-to-iraq\/","title":{"rendered":"US approves sale of 5 armed Bell 407GX helicopters to Iraq"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>US approves<\/strong> <strong>sale of 5 armed Bell 407GX helicopters to Iraq to compensate for losses during operations against ISIS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The U.S. State Department approved the sale to Iraq of five armed Bell 407GX light attack helicopters for the Iraqi Security Forces for an estimated cost of $82.5 million, according to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.<\/p>\n<p>New helicopters will help compensate for the ISF\u2019s combat loss of seven\u00a0407 helicopters and increase their combat effectiveness against Islamic State and other terrorist groups in Iraq, DSCA said in a Thursday, October 4\u00a0<span style=\"color: #a80000;\"><a style=\"color: #a80000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dsca.mil\/major-arms-sales\/iraq-armed-bell-407gx-helicopters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">release<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Bell 407GX helicopters are an upgraded variant of the\u00a0Bell 407 civil utility helicopters.
