It comes as Beijing and Moscow continue to deepen their strategic partnership amid growing geopolitical tensions and increased competition with the United States and its allies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">China&#8217;s Ministry of National Defense said the drills involve naval forces operating in both the waters and airspace off Qingdao. Following the exercise, selected vessels from both countries will conduct a joint maritime patrol in unspecified areas of the Pacific Ocean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the ministry, the exercise is an annual event designed to improve operational coordination between the two navies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Following the exercise, some forces from both sides will conduct a joint maritime patrol in relevant areas of the Pacific Ocean.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ministry added that the exercise is &#8220;aimed at jointly responding to security challenges and safeguarding regional peace and stability.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">China&#8217;s Northern Theater Command confirmed that all participating Chinese forces had already arrived in Qingdao before the start of the drills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>Participating Forces<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">China has deployed two destroyers, one frigate, one submarine, one supply ship, and one rescue vessel.
