{"id":3608,"date":"2016-02-01T18:46:22","date_gmt":"2016-02-01T18:46:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/box5917.temp.domains\/~iriacom\/\/news\/?p=3608"},"modified":"2016-02-01T18:47:06","modified_gmt":"2016-02-01T18:47:06","slug":"us-creating-tensions-in-south-china-sea-chinese-foreign-ministry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ir-ia.com\/news\/us-creating-tensions-in-south-china-sea-chinese-foreign-ministry\/","title":{"rendered":"US creating tensions in South China Sea: Chinese Foreign Ministry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>China says the United States is seeking to establish a maritime hegemony under the pretext of \u201cfreedom of navigation\u201d in South China Sea.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said during\u00a0a daily news briefing on Monday that Washington is playing the freedom of navigation card and &#8220;creating tensions&#8221; in the China Sea.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On Friday, US missile destroyer USS Curtis Wilbur\u00a0sailed\u00a0within 12 nautical miles of Triton Island, which is part of the Paracel Islands in South China Sea.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The move, which the US described as a challenge to attempts by China, Taiwan and Vietnam to restrict navigation rights and freedoms, prompted\u00a0Beijing\u2019s condemnation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u201cIts essence is to push the United States&#8217; maritime hegemony in the name of freedom of navigation which has always been resolutely opposed by most of the international community, especially certain developing nations.
