The first two rounds, in June and October 2025, drew an estimated 5 million and 7 million, respectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The protests centered on concerns over what organizers described as increasing authoritarianism, alongside frustration with rising living costs and federal enforcement policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTrump wants to rule over us as a tyrant,\u201d the No Kings website says. \u201cBut this is America, and power belongs to the people &#8211; not to wannabe kings or their billionaire cronies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Protests in major US cities, suburbs and towns<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNo Kings\u201d protesters marched through suburbs, major cities, and small towns across the U.S., carrying signs. Some of the large rallies took place in New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Washington and Minnesota. In New York, an estimated tens of thousands of protestors stretched more than 10 blocks in midtown Manhattan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Actor Robert De Niro, one of the organizers, said that no president before Trump has posed \u201csuch an existential threat to our freedoms and security.\u201d Holly Bemiss, 54, described the New York rally as a continuation of her ancestors\u2019 fight during the American Revolution. \u201cWe fought against having kings, and we fought for freedom,\u201d she said. \u201cWe&#8217;re just doing it again.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-media-max-width=\"800\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">USA today: <br><br>7 million Americans in the streets today protesting for freedom. <br>3,000 cities and towns. Organizers estimated over 200,000 attendees, believing it to be the largest in the state&#8217;s history. Demonstrators chanted, \u201cICE out of Portland,\u201d with some remaining on sidewalks while others crowded the driveway in front of the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Portland Police reported that three people were arrested after the crowd repeatedly stepped onto the ICE driveway. The White House dismissed the demonstrations, downplaying their significance and criticizing those involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe only people who care about these Trump Derangement Therapy Sessions are the reporters who are paid to cover them,\u201d White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said in a statement. Jackson criticized the events, calling them \u201cTrump Derangement Therapy Sessions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Republican groups also criticized Democratic politicians for supporting or aligning with the protests, describing the events as politically motivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other side, participants and organizers said the demonstrations reflect growing public concern and civic engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a nod to the protests, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York said she planned to introduce a bill to bar presidents from putting their name, likeness or signature on federal property or money. \u201cIn America, we do not bow to kings,\u201d Gillibrand said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Growing Movement Ahead of Elections<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scale of participation suggests the \u201cNo Kings\u201d movement is expanding beyond major urban centers.
