Mark Welsh <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.military.com\/daily-news\/2015\/12\/06\/us-air-force-running-out-of-bombs-to-fight-isis.html\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a><\/span>. \u201cWe need the funding in place to ensure we&#8217;re prepared for the long fight. This is a critical need.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The U.S. Air Force has <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/air-force-replenishing-stocks-bombs-missiles-isis\/story?id=35589316\" target=\"_blank\">reportedly<\/a><\/span> fired some 20,000 bombs and missiles during it&#8217;s 15-month bombing campaign in Syria against ISIS to dismantle the self-proclaimed the Islamic State (or ISIS).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cB-1s have dropped bombs in record numbers. F-15Es are in the fight because they are able to employ a wide range of weapons and do so with great flexibility. We need the funding in place to ensure we\u2019re prepared for the long fight,\u201d Welsh said in the statement. \u201cThis is a critical need.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">American military aircraft have carried out more than three-quarters of the 8,556 airstrikes conducted against ISIS in Iraq and Syria.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">US Congress has approved an Air Force request for $400 million in additional funding for year 2015 to replenish stockpiles of Hellfire missiles and precision bombs that are being used against ISIS, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/air-force-replenishing-stocks-bombs-missiles-isis\/story?id=35589316\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Major Melissa Milner<\/span><\/a>, an Air Force spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Air Force officials said the current use rate will not significantly impact its current global stockpiles of precision-guided bombs and Hellfire missiles.\u00a0The Air Force&#8217;s global stockpile of air dropped munitions includes gravity, and small- and large-diameter munitions, officials said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The Department of Defense maintains <a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/air-force-replenishing-stocks-bombs-missiles-isis\/story?id=35589316\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\">ample stocks of munitions<\/span><\/a> for use both in training and in war,\u201d said Mark Wright, a Pentagon spokesman. \u201cAs those munitions are consumed, we use various methods to replenish our operational stocks. This will not interfere with ongoing combat operations against ISIL.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The latest<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><a style=\"color: #993300;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.afcent.af.mil\/Portals\/1\/Documents\/Airpower%20summary\/31%20October%20%202015%20Airpower%20Summary%202.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0US Air Force statistics<\/a><\/span> show that through the end of 22 November, 286 munitions had been used against ISIS targets in Iraq and Syria.
