The remaining 30 will attend as observers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brigadier General Patrick Clare from the U.S. CENTCOM emphasized the importance of the joint military drills during his opening remarks, saying, \u201cBright Star 2025 builds upon the enduring security partnership between Egypt and the United States, a relationship rooted in decades of cooperation on counterterrorism, regional defense, and efforts to combat violent extremism.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>U.S. CENTCOM\u2019s Brigadier General Clare emphasized, \u201cThis year\u2019s exercise sends a powerful message: Egypt, the United States, and our international partners remain united in our commitment to regional stability and military collaboration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First launched in 1980, Bright Star is one of CENTCOM\u2019s longest-running military exercises. Now in its 19th iteration. What began as a primarily U.S.-Egypt bilateral exercise has evolved into a multinational showcase of joint readiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Egypt\u2019s role and leadership<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Egyptian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Ahmed Khalifa inspected final preparations ahead of the opening ceremony. His visit highlighted the extensive planning and cooperation between U.S. and Egyptian forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his remarks, Khalifa said, \u201cI am pleased to be at the training center and to meet participants from the Egyptian and American sides, as well as from the friendly nations taking part. The demonstration showcased the Pentagon\u2019s push to integrate advanced unmanned systems into joint operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Edge 130 Blue is a lightweight, military-grade tricopter capable of vertical takeoff and landing, hovering, and forward flight.
