{"id":2969,"date":"2015-10-02T19:53:04","date_gmt":"2015-10-02T19:53:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/box5917.temp.domains\/~iriacom\/\/news\/?p=2969"},"modified":"2015-10-02T19:53:04","modified_gmt":"2015-10-02T19:53:04","slug":"us-denies-taliban-shot-down-military-plane-in-afghanistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ir-ia.com\/news\/us-denies-taliban-shot-down-military-plane-in-afghanistan\/","title":{"rendered":"US denies Taliban shot down military plane in Afghanistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The United States\u2019 military has denied that the Taliban were responsible for its plane crash in eastern Afghanistan on Friday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Taliban has taken credit for a US military transport plane crash in the city of Jalalabad, that killed six U.S. airmen and five civilians, but U.S. officials maintain that isn\u2019t the case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Taliban issued a statement on Friday morning, saying they shot down the US Air Force C-130J transport plane.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a tweet early Friday morning, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said, &#8220;Our mujahideen have shot down a four-engine US aircraft in Jalalabad.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The tweet further stated,\u00a0&#8220;Based on credible information 15 invading forces and a number of puppet troops were killed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">US Air Force Maj. Tony Wickman said on Friday, \u201cIt is with high confidence that we can say it does not appear that enemy fire was involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The US military has released few other details about the aircraft crash.
