The PrSM advanced system plays a crucial role in modern defense, enhancing battlefield effectiveness and providing the warfighter with unparalleled capability.

Vice President of Precision Fires Launchers and Missiles at Lockheed Martin, Carolyn Orzechowski said, “Lockheed Martin is committed to delivering this deterrent capability in support of the Army’s vision for a lethal and resilient force.”

“Our team remains focused on advancing the production at speed and scale, ensuring the warfighter receives this critical capability to maintain peace through strength,” Orzechowski added.

According to the Lockheed Martin statement, by leveraging cutting-edge digital technologies such as augmented reality, ARISE advanced modeling and simulation, data analytics, and software factory, the company continues to enhance development, improve producibility, quality, and overall performance.

This contract underscores Lockheed Martin’s commitment to delivering innovative, battle-tested solutions that support Army modernization initiatives and keep warfighters prepared for evolving threats.

Earlier in February 2025, the U.S. Army successfully completed a PrSM production qualification flight test at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. During the test, the U.S. Army fired two Precision Strike Missiles from a HIMARS launcher in a long-range flight to hit a target set. The test validated the system’s accuracy and readiness.

The demonstration follows successful flights in November and the first soldier-led test in December 2024. This series of flight tests is a key phase in Lockheed Martin’s missile development, validating reliability, performance, and effectiveness before deployment in combat.

Precision Strike Missiles

The PrSM is the next-generation, long-range precision-strike missile designed by Lockheed Martin for the U.S. Army. The surface-to-surface missile is capable of neutralizing targets out to more than 400 kilometers and aims to enhance the U.S. Army’s capabilities to attack, neutralize, suppress, and destroy targets.

Lockheed Martin long-range Precision Strike Missiles.
