However thousands of NATO troops will stay in war-torn Afghanistan on a \u201ctraining and support\u201d mission.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" title=\"US, NATO mark end of Afghan combat mission after 13 years\" href=\"http:\/\/box5917.temp.domains\/~iriacom\/\/news\/us-nato-mark-end-of-afghan-combat-mission-after-13-years\/\">Also Read: US, NATO mark end of Afghan combat mission after 13 years<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>For the Taliban, NATO\u2019s pullout from Afghanistan is a clear demonstration of the alliance\u2019s weakness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe consider this step a clear indication of their defeat and disappointment,\u201d the terror group said in a statement, arraigning the US-led mission of \u201cbarbarism and cruelty\u201d that left \u201ca pool of blood\u201d behind.<\/p>\n<p>The comment from the Taliban comes a day after NATO marked the end of its combat mission with a low-key ceremony in Kabul, arranged in secret due to the threat of a militant attack.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmerica, its invading allies&#8230; along with all international arrogant organizations have been handed a clear-cut defeat in this lopsided war,\u201d claimed the Taliban, which ruled Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Army General John F. Campbell said, \u201cWe are not walking away\u201d describing the lingering challenges even after the end of war. \u201cIn spite of all of this, the insurgents continue to kill their fellow Muslims in their misguided cause.
