Russian President Putin emphasized the necessity for modernized and fully operational strategic forces. \u201cGiven the growing geopolitical tensions and the emergence of new external threats and risks, it is important to have modern and constantly ready-to-use strategic forces,\u201d he stated. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the drill encompassed a comprehensive demonstration of Russia\u2019s nuclear “triad,” involving ground, sea, and air-launched missiles. A Yars intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) was successfully launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in northwest Russia, targeting the Kamchatka Peninsula in the Far East.
