U.S. Air Force\u2019s new B-21 Raider long-range nuclear stealth bomber took to the skies for the first time in a successful flying test. The flight test was conducted at the U.S. Air Force\u2019s Plant 42 in Palmdale, California. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A U.S. Air Force spokesperson Ann Stefanek said \u201cThe B-21 Raider is in flight testing. Flight testing is a critical step in the test campaign managed by the Air Force Test Center and 412th Test Wing\u2019s B-21 Combined Test Force to provide survivable, long-range, penetrating strike capabilities to deter aggression and strategic attacks against the United States, allies, and partners.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A video from the flight test shows the B-21 bomber<\/span><\/a> flying with its landing gears down, accompanied by an F-16 chase plane.\u00a0The U.S. Air Force did not\u00a0release an official announcement prior to\u00a0the B-21\u2019s\u00a0first flight,\u00a0however,\u00a0about three\u00a0dozen\u00a0aviation enthusiasts and amateur photographers gathered around Plant 42 hoping to see the bomber take to the skies. The first flight of the 6th generation bomber took place on November 10, 2023, just after dawn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
