(Image Credit: NATO\/MARCOM)<\/sup><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>During the exercise, submarines from Italy, the U.S., Greece, and Turkiye navies joined surface ships from the United States, Canada, Spain, Italy, Turkey, and Greece, including the ships of Standing NATO Maritime Group 2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NATO allies Canada, Germany, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States also provided air assets, which included maritime patrol aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>United Kingdom&#8217;s Royal Air Force deployed its Poseidon patrol aircraft in Sicily, Italy to take part in Nato\u2019s anti-submarine warfare exercise. The British aircraft coordinated with allied ships and submarines in searching and locating the targeted platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the British Royal Air Force CXX Squadron detachment commander squadron leader Birchall, the \u201chigh-end training and complex exercise environment offered by Dynamic Manta combined with [the] opportunity to share best practice with so many other partners and allies is invaluable. Dynamic Manta provides the framework to deliver that training in a wide range of maritime competencies to our multinational audience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dynamic Manta is a MARCOM-led maritime exercise that is held every year to increase readiness in defense of the Alliance. North Atlantic Treaty Organization&#8217;s Allied Maritime Command is the central command of all NATO maritime forces.
