{"id":10393,"date":"2022-07-13T00:23:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-12T22:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ir-ia.com\/news\/?p=10393"},"modified":"2022-07-14T12:25:39","modified_gmt":"2022-07-14T10:25:39","slug":"first-image-from-nasas-james-webb-space-telescope-reveals-deepest-view-of-universe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ir-ia.com\/news\/first-image-from-nasas-james-webb-space-telescope-reveals-deepest-view-of-universe\/","title":{"rendered":"First image from NASA\u2019s James Webb Space Telescope reveals deepest view of universe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>NASA has unveiled the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/webbfirstimages\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color:#ac0707\" class=\"has-inline-color\">first full-color image<\/span><\/a>&nbsp;taken by the powerful James Webb Space Telescope, marking a major milestone as it allows deeper insight into the distant Universe than ever before.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NASA\u2019s James Webb Space Telescope has produced the \u201cdeepest and sharpest infrared image of the distant universe to date,\u201d showing thousands of galaxies \u2013 including the faintest objects ever observed in the infrared \u2013 that have appeared in Webb\u2019s view for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This image is filled with galaxies, some more than 13 billion years old, which means they formed just after the Big Bang. Light travels at 186,000 miles per second which means the light on one of those little specks have been traveling for over 13 billion years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Joe Biden and NASA administrator Bill Nelson&nbsp;released the first spectacular image from NASA\u2019s James Webb Space Telescope at the White House in Washington.&nbsp;\u201cThis is the oldest documented light in the history of the universe from 13 billion \u2014 let me say that again, 13 billion \u2014 years ago,\u201d Biden beamed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese images are going to remind the world that America can do big things, and remind the American people \u2013 especially our children \u2013 that there\u2019s nothing beyond our capacity,\u201d said President Biden in remarks during the event. \u201cWe can see possibilities no one has ever seen before. (Image Credit: Twitter) <\/em><\/sup><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The $10 billion <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ir-ia.com\/news\/nasa-launches-its-most-expensive-and-powerful-james-webb-telescope\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color:#ac0707\" class=\"has-inline-color\">James Webb Space Telescope<\/span><\/a> (JWST),&nbsp;launched in 2021, is the successor to the famous Hubble Space Telescope. JWST is the largest and most powerful space telescope ever built, and because it uses infrared, it can see stars and galaxies far beyond the range of other telescopes that see primarily visible light.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>James Webb is an international partnership between NASA, ESA (European Space Agency) and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA).
